Rodent and rat removal

daga, the Filipino word for rat

Rat and Mouse Removal for Your Home or Business

Rats and mice are more than just a nuisance – they spread diseases, contaminate food, and damage property. In Pampanga and nearby provinces, rodent infestations are a common problem in homes, restaurants, and commercial spaces.

At Pest Control Pampanga, we provide professional rodent control solutions to remove rats and make a return less likely, with every trap and bait station placed out of reach of children and pets.

Where daga actually get in

A rat does not move into a ceiling because the ceiling is attractive. It moves in because something outside made the way in easy: a branch touching the roof, a gap round a pipe, a vent with no mesh, a drain cover that no longer sits flat.

So the first visit is mostly looking. Droppings say how many and how recent, grease marks along a joist say which route they run, and gnaw marks round a hole say it is still in use. Trapping without that is guesswork, and guesswork is how a rat problem comes back in six weeks.

Sealing the way in is the part that lasts. Everything else is clearing the ones already inside.

The gap a mouse or a rat needs

House mouseAn opening 6 mm acrossA quarter of an inch.
RatA 13 mm gap under a doorHalf an inch, and young rats especially.

So seal anything wider than 6 mm, including gaps around pipes, cables and vents, with coarse steel wool, wire screen, sheet metal or concrete. Lightweight chicken wire does not stop rats: they pass through its openings.

The hole, the gap and the ruler share one scale: the dark shape is the opening, between the door and the floor for the rat, and the green line marks its width. Sources: University of California IPM, House mouse, and Rats.

Why You Shouldn’t Ignore Rodents

  • Health Risks: Rodents spread leptospirosis through their urine, which the Department of Health and the US CDC both warn about, and their droppings contaminate stored food.
  • Property Damage: They chew through wires, wood, and insulation, which can even cause fire hazards.
  • Fast Breeding: A single pair of rats can produce dozens of offspring in a year.
  • Contamination: Droppings and urine can spoil food and spread bacteria.

Our Rodent Control Process

  1. Step 1: Inspection

We follow the droppings, smudge marks and gnaw marks to the runs, the nests and the entry points.

  2. Step 2: Treatment

We set snap traps and tamper-resistant bait stations on the runs the rodents already use, placed where a child or pet cannot reach them, as the US EPA guide directs.

  3. Step 3: Prevention

We seal off entry points, apply deterrents, and provide advice to keep rodents from returning.

Rodent Control FAQs

How do I know if I have a rodent problem?

Look for droppings, gnawed wires or food packaging, scratching noises at night, or foul odors.

Are your rodent treatments safe for pets and children?

Not as a flat yes, and we do not spray for rodents. We use snap traps and tamper-resistant bait stations on the runs the rodents already use, placed where a child or pet cannot reach them, which is the rule in the US EPA, Citizen's Guide to Pest Control and Pesticide Safety: never put bait where small children or pets can reach it. We tell you where every trap and station is. If a pet eats bait or a poisoned rodent, call a vet at once with the product name from the label we leave with you.

Do you provide long-term prevention?

Absolutely. Our services include exclusion techniques to block entry points and advice on maintaining a rodent-free environment.
